    Instructions:

    Initial Preparation:

    Step 1: Surface Preparation

Before proceeding, it's essential to prepare the surface properly to ensure maximum bonding. If there’s a layer of old, faded paint dust, it must firstly be thoroughly polished away. To check, wipe your finger over the area where the backing plate will be mounted. If you see paint residue on your finger, it indicates that you need to remove the dust residue. Once the surface is thoroughly clean, follow the steps below.

    1. Clean the surface first using Isopropyl Alcohol which you can buy 125ml bottles from Bunnings.
    2. Polish: If you can rub your finger on the surface where the attachments will be located and you have paint dust residue then you will need to apply polish
    3. Use Isopropyl Alcohol to properly clean the surface area, which you can purchase a 125ml bottle at Bunnings for under $10.
    4. Do Not use oil based products to clean surface i.e. Methylated spirts or mineral turpentine as that will compromise the surface integrity.

    Bracket Assembly:

Note: When attaching the backing plate to the arm using the bolt and spring, tighten the bolt only one half a turn into the nylon thread nut. Over-tightening will place excessive stress on the ends of the arm, causing the splines to misalign. Proper alignment of the arm's ends is essential to ensure the splines function correctly for adjustment purposes.

"The mounting plate must be securely fastened to the door using a leveraged force. To achieve this, use multi-grips, Vise-Grips, or similar hand tools that can apply more force than hand pressure alone. A leveraged force is necessary to achieve the required pressure for proper tape bonding and adhesion.". (See below in video for applications under Shadewing fittings).
    Isuzu Supports
Note: "There are two sizes of supports: the thinner support is designed for the back of the door, while the thicker one fits the front. Be sure not to mix them up, as this will prevent the wing from fitting securely to the door frame."
